In the summer of '99, we had a little movie magic going on in Port Huron. These are the scenes I shot as the movie guys dropped a car from the world famous Blue Water Bridge. The movie was titled "Bless The Child", and featured Kim Bassinger, Jimmy Smits, and Christina Ricci. It was rated a very exciting religious cult thriller. In these shots, Kim manages to get out of the car just in the nick of time as it goes over the bridge. As you can see, she was one lucky gal! The movie is now available for rental at your local video store. Check it out!

This short piece came from the Times Herald Newspaper of Port Huron, Michigan:

BIG BLOW-UP

Bless the Child became the second movie to feature a scene filmed on the Blue Water Bridge. The religious thriller, which came out in 2000, stars Kim Basinger as a woman whose niece is kidnapped by a Satanic cult.
At one point, Basinger's car careens off a bridge and explodes. Though the movie takes place in New York City, the stunt was filmed on the Blue Water Bridge on Sept. 23, 1999. Hundreds of local residents showed up to watch a fiery Ford Thunderbird plunging into the St. Clair River.
A digital New York skyline was added later, but astute moviegoers can spot some local scenery.
